Well, when I stated filling the cake pan I had quite a bit of filling so I also made 12 cupcakes. But, the cake did rise well, better than most I make. It was so big I had to cover a Large cookie sheet for storage in my microwave and it barely fits with the door closing. I don't have to say he is very happy with it!
I also won a mermaid doll like the frozen Charlotte dolls during this event from Altered Arts Blog. Alicia was very kind to me during the event notifying me of a blogging loading problem and then later I was giving our my blog address wrong on word press blogs. She has been so kind to help me, I am no computer Geek and I just get buy as I can. I appreciate all her help and knowledge. She was nice enough to take extra time to figure out what my problems were with my blog address and I should never try to type from memory. I am a copy and paste kind of girl. I think I had blogspot in the wrong place, backward in other works. Oh well, she got through to me and I found out I won on her second notice. I am grateful that she kept trying for me as I ADORE MERMAIDS and collect them as I can.
Don't you just love her! Well, I named her " Alicia" after my gift giver! She is 3 inches tall and so adorable! I will use her a lot in my art thoughts and photos but never give her away. Please visit Alicia's blog and scroll down to see her historically accurate little books she makes with several friends adding pages. They are awesome and Alicia loves anatomy, hearts for sure. You will see what I mean in her posts.
Here is another mermaid I have but she is in a bin for the winter as she started rusting in my home-made tiered water fountain she lives in during the summer.

HELLO CYNDI,
THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FOR STOPPING BY. I SURE ENJOYED OUR VISIT., AND I LOVED GETTING TO KNOW YOU BETTER.
I WENT IN AND EDITED MY POST AND ADDED MARY'S NAME FOR PRAYER. THEY HAVE GOT TO FIND A CURE FOR THIS. MY DAUGHTER DIED OF CANCER 15 MONTHS BEFORE HER BFF. LEILA LIVE 15 MONTHS AND WE BURIED HER A WEEK A GO SATURDAY. MY AMY WAS 33 AND LEILA WAS ONLY 35. SHE WORKED AN 8 HOUR SHIFT AT STAPLES ON A THURSDAY AND FRIDAY SHE WAS IN ICU AND BEING TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING MORE THEY COULD DO...EVERY OTHER DAY THEY WERE DRAINING 5 LITERS OF FLUID OFF HER. NOW MY AMY WE WERE EXPECTING...SHE HAD A TRACH, A FEEDING TUBE AND WEIGHED FOURTY SEVEN POUNDS WHEN GOD SAID SHE COULD COME HOME.
EVEN WITH THE HELP OF JESUS, THE GRIEF WAS OVER WHELMING AND STILL IS AT TIMES.
LEILA IS BURIED AT THE PLOT BELOW WHERE AMY'S FEET POINT. WE THOUGHT THAT WAS AWESOME FOR 2 BFF'S TO EVEN BE LESS THAN A FEW FEET AWAY FROM EACH OTHER IN LAYING TO REST.
THEY HAD THE SAME PURSES, SAME BLACKBERRY'S, WORE THE SAME COLORS OF CLOTHING...THEY WERE CLOSER THAN BLOOD SISTERS.
PASTOR MARNEY SAID AT LEILA'S FUNERAL, HEAVEN WILL NEVER BE THE SAME AGAIN SINCE LUCY AND ETHEL ARE BACK TOGETHER.
MY PROFILE PICTURE IS AN ART PROJECT AMY MADE FOR ME BEFORE SHE DIED...SHE CARVED STYROFOAM AND LULU PUT AMY'S NAME ON THE WINGS OF THE DRESS FORM. ON THE DAY OF AMY'S GOING HOME CELEBRATION THERE COULD NOT BE FOUND A BUTTERFLY OR GERBER DAISY ANYWHERE IN TOWN...THEY WERE ALL WITH AMY
ENOUGH....FOR TODAY
I JUST DROOL OVER YOUR TRAILER DAISY...I LOVE HER...I HAVE ALWAYS WANTED A TRAILER LIKE THAT. IT MUST BE A BLAST TO CAMP IN IT
I WILL BE GRABBING YOUR BUTTON TO PUT ON MY BLOG.
I JUST WANTED TO EXPLAIN TO YOU THAT I TYPE IN CAPITAL LETTERS BECAUSE IT IS EASIER ON MY EYES...I AM A BRITTLE DIABETIC AND HAVE HAD SEVERAL SURGERIES ON MY EYES....
I HAD A PERSON E MAIL ME AND ASK IF I KNEW THE RULES IN BLOG LAND... THAT IF YOU TYPE IN CAPITAL LETTERS YOU ARE ANGRY...YOU COULD HAVE KNOCKED ME OUT OF MY CHAIR.I AM NOT ANGRY.
TALK TO YOU SOON.
HAVE A SUGAR SWEET DAY

hi Cyndi, those look yummy! Please come see the top few posts on my blog :)
Susan
your cupcakes look so very tasty! i've been trying to find the time to bake more lately -- a batch of cupcakes or cookies and a cake or so per week since my husb and son LOVE sugar. i'm not a sugar girl, but since we are gluten free i adore the challenge of making delectable GF things that taste really good (100% success so far, haha).
thank you so much for the sweetest post ever! you are such a gem and that little gal couldn't have gone to a better home. i'm so glad you like her!! i was trying to think of any other mermaids i may have when i sent her to you since i knew you love them so much but i couldn't think of any except a tiny brass one from the early 1900s that i couldn't part with. now i remember that i have a cute little mermaid template on my site -- peek at the free stuff page at http://alteredbits.com -- if you like doing collage and such you may like her.
i hope you have a magnificent rest of the weekend!! i'm so very glad that your blog is working now too. :)
xxo
