A tragedy a Olympics close to home

I am shocked as all my Department 56 friends are to hear of this horrendous event on the first day of the Summer Olympics in Beijing. Mr. Bachman started the Company as a florist business and even shared his poinsettia's with the White House at Christmas.

Many of my friends and I collected the" little villages" and I mainly collected the "Snowbabies".

As one person noted, they were Mr and Mrs Minnesota nice folks. See the articule here

I am remembering his wife Barbara in my prayers for her recovery as the next 24 hours are very critical for her. She stepped back when she heard trouble with her husband and was injured herself. The Bachman family video is on the page in the Minnesota paper when you scroll down.

What a tragedy for America!

Such a tragedy...I'll be praying for the family for sure.

On a side note, is anyone else sick of hearing the world criticizing America for its pollution and violence, only to tune in to the Olympics to see smog and attacks? I like to keep the Olympics politics-free, but it's stretching my limits this time.
