March is Etsy Cottage Style Color Purple for Blogs

So, Let's see your purple passion people!!

This is one of my favorite blogs with the Etsy Cottage Style Team, Every month the theme changes! We share our links through Mr Linkey and you may see many fun awesome Etsy Cottage  bloggers taking part in various events all the time. I love visiting blogs with the same theme covered in so many ways that vary from their favorite items to display and show other bloggers.

I do love Purple! It is a FaVoRiTe color and has been for many years! If I purchase something and have a choice of colors, I always choose purple. I also love dragonflies, fairies, my cats and dogs, so often I am given them in purple by my daughter and friends for gifts.

I also love to treasure hunt for my hobby which is now my business on Etsy. I love vintage, shabby, chippy, shiny, nature, shopping, creating, staging, and CheAp! It has to be cheap, even free if available!
I walk watching the ground to not stumble and fall for my health and I discover the neatest things, acorns, nuts, leaves, sticks, stones, trash, and discarded items. It may be bottle caps, coins, labels, tree branches bigger than sticks and moss! I adore moss!  Much if this is not purple but it is what I love to do! So, I started shopping antique, thrift, consignment, hobbies shops to collect things not on the ground. I recycle all I can and found a huge haul one day as someone had discarded three bags of candle glass jars, cleaned and even many lids!  So, I give a little and I take a lot! ( grins)

I use them as well as my old jars and bottles to display my nature jars filled with moss, sticks, bird nests and eggs, just anything can go! Use imagination and I need to get busy doing many more.
One thing I also collect is vintage discarded clothing so I can rip it apart for accessories, buttons, zippers, and fabric. I may cut the sleeves off or the top away from the bottom, the collars, pockets, just anything special from t that can be used for other ideas I have. And, I do love to get purple clothing and accessories.  My home is also full of purple items I will share with you.

Purple buttons are very hard to find in old sewing kits so I usually look for them in old clothing as I love to use them in my makings with other purple whatever's! Is that a word? Oh yes, I also collect old books, dictionaries, magazines, paper anything along with discarded home decor to use for myself, my selling items, and my art.

Ok, here are some photos I staged on my table and hallway bins. Yesterday, I tore up a lot of clothing I had in bins and then when I read the Etsy e-mail last night I had a blast collecting things for my staged display(s).  I have also painted furniture purple much of it has sold in my walk-in booth.

I will show fabrics, patterns, hankies, candle holders, buttons, threads, scissors with purple handles and even my purple art brush bucket along with my purple market bag, a top cut form a dress that is full of buttons and embroidery. I will probably cut off the sleeves and I can use them as pockets as I did with an apron in my fairy zine exchange many years ago.

I made a slideshow to view and I hope you enjoy it as well as I did staging it. I have a bin and box in my hallway with fabrics, flowers, Victoria Secret sleepwear that I have done nothing with yet. I love the feel of the silky and chiffon like materials.  I DO LoVe to just feel fabrics and I miss that when I do not sew much. I made a quilt by hand years ago then I realized how much I love to feel cloth!

Cyndi, thank you for visiting my blog and for your sweet comment. I am enjoying my visit through blog land to see everyone's purple items. You have lots of fabric. I have made some quilts by hand too and miss sewing, but I had to chose between sewing and painting and the painting won out. I miss it though. I taught my friend who lost her husband how to quilt so she would have something to occupy her. She is doing good with it. I think it is therapeutic. Have a great day!
