I am Inspired Thrifting and Posting!
I started out this morning reading blogs and I found several that I am now following regarding thrifting stores and great finds.
I have not been posting much about my finds as I have not yet got them listed to sell.Well, I shall start anyway and try to get them listed as least one by one if nothing else gets listed that day.
Maybe this can be my inspiration. I saw so many fabulous blogs, retail stores and a favorite is the
Vintage Junky on my sidebar. Michelle is even having a giveaway from her beautiful shop, SO A GOOD DOUBLE FIND! Go ahead and look for yourself and enter also.
I can not shop much more these days until I sell what I already have, so I will post photos as I can of what I have been going thru. My yard sale still left me with a lot of merchandise and I never even got out my linens and I don't believe anyone would have paid anything for them anyway. I cherish them too much!
I am one of those keepers that thinks I can't let go of many things I have because I enjoy looking at them. Well, I have to start changing that opinion.
To start:
Here is a fabulous Tablecloth I found at my Thrift store a month or so ago when I was looking for a floor lamp to put my Southern Hemisphere Globe Shade on. My shade is in My Etsy Shop, ByLightOfMoon since Handmade and the Tablecloth will go into my Vintage Etsy Shop, frstyfrolk's DragonflyzDreams. Maybe I should Iron It! (grins)
While I was looking for my photo, I found these books I have to List , many are about Angels and I willl get them listed soon. I closed my Bonanzle store and some are not yet vintage so I need to find a new selling site. I will keep you posted.

Yard Sale, Birthday Fun, Workshop!
We had a yard sale last weekend and it was non- stop work from Thursday till Saturday as I was really not prepared to have one but we can only have two a year, so maybe another near the Fall Holidays as I have a lot of loot from my closed consignment stores still hanging around in my house and garage,
I wish I could say I have large empty spaces from this sale but I don't. We made a tiny dent in all I have.
I have maybe 60 I am guessing coffee cups and not one sold. I have boxes of books and only a few sold. maybe 20. Clothing was $1.00 per piece and a few sold, very few. None of the nice Laura Ashley, Liz Clairborne, Eddie Bauer clothing or Pottery Barn linens. I also had cutter clothing and quilts so I will be listing them on the internet . Several people also suggested Craig's list. At least then when someone is looking for something they can find it and not just browsers. We did donate to a lady who came by and gave us $40 to fill up some boxes with whatever we wanted to give her worth that amount but we actually gave her probably $100 worth. She had one leg and could not get out of her car so we just filled up some boxes and she said she sold at flea markets. We also donated to our local Thrift store giving back much of what I had purchased there, it goes around again! LOL!
Even my walk in store, "DragonflyzDReams " did not make rent this month for the first time in 3 months I was under $4.00 short so not bad, but all I sold went into the building's owner 's pocket and nothing for me. I do have to get more of my mixed media up there I believe and not so many tabletop items but that is what sold at the garage sale along with a small TV we had and my husband's knives, license plates and caps. He sells them on-line at MyShop4Pets along with many animal items mainly for dogs and in memory of our two Golden Retrievers we lost after 12 years, Megan and Jordan.
Emma and Bailey are doing just fine along with our two rescue cats so we are a full house again. In fact , Bailey celebrated his first (1st) Birthday last week. we got his some new toys which some are already torn up, they take out the filling fast with their strong jaws. I have enough saved filling to stuff things for years!
Bailey 1st Birthday Party
He was a little afraid of his toys at first and ran for his crate that he loves, ( We sell at MYSHOP4PETS) and then he was ok later with the bone. He loves the bones now too!
Another thing I am so happy to hear is that Joran van der Sloot has been captured for the murder of another girl. I hope this puts him away from society where he can never do it again. He was extracting extortion money here in Birmingham for information about Natalie Holloway who went missing on her senior trip to Aruba five years ago and it all happened on the anniversary weekend of that event. I hope he never has another girl alone with him again in his lifetime.
One of my favorite friends and bloggers is Sandra of Thistle Cove Farm who will be hosting a workshop at her Appalachian Mountain Farm, September 24-25, 2010 learning from KC Willis making, "I Send you Wings"! What a fabulous workshop and time of year to be in the hills of Virginia. Oh, I wish I could attend? A Dream!
Please check out Sandra's blog for more details and to make your reservations.
