This is a delayed post as I could not get blogger to upload my photos on Friday AUg. 27, 2009 and I had to get back to taking care of my DH so I am finally getting them to load this Morning Sunday Aug. 30, 2009. NOW, back to original post:
I have been trying to set up my selling sites blog seperate from my everyday blog as I hate to combine both as I know my readers follow for the everyday and not what to buy from me, so I changed my Altered Art Dreams Blog to Dragonfly Dreams and will post to both if I can continue with two blogs. Since My husband is recovering I shall be home more and I need to list more merchandise I have around my home to clean it out, so I will list on the new re-arranged site.
Also, yesterday was my Daughter's Birthday and we got her the most fabulous cake. She loves Edgar's Bakery as does most of Birmingham. She got me the same cake for my birthday a couple of weeks ago in white and when she saw the purple she delighted in it and said this is what I want! So, we give our only daughter what she wants, of course!
The bad part is she has been sick the past few days and did not even let us know. So, I lectured her that she always lets her mother know when she is ill. Her office sent her home from work on Monday as she started running a fever. She has just been in bed and resting. As my husband was not up to par either, her celebration was pretty tiny this year. She was to get a tailbone injection today for her chronic pain and canceled that. That tells me she really is not up to it as she scheduled it a month ago as the facet injections have not worked on her back. I think in wrong place and we were hoping this would help. I will have her at the Doctor if not better today, for some labs.
Good News from Mary, my friend battling chemotherapy. They did a test to see if the numbers are better after her first chemo and they were almost cut in half so our prayers are working. I ask you to please continue them!
On a good note, I want to show you a video I saw and I needed to rest, sit back and just contemplate. I hope you enjoy it, It is called Colors!
I am so sorry and thank you so much for your comments on Saturday that I was unable to publish the special "Second Star to the Right" Blog on the August 22, 2009 as it should have been. I had it ready to go. I had make the slideshow on flicker and written up my post of fantasy and fun for me when my dear husband's surgery was moved to an earlier date. I took his laptop and our phones' to the hospital as they published we would have Wi-Fi. NOT! They had so many firewalls we were unable to puncture threw it as were many others I spoke to.
I did get to my blog on the I-Phone but I was unable to sign in as it was too tiny for this old-timer to work with to post anything so I really appreciate my daughter Lisa for posting for me as I talked her on the phone threw it. She even tried to get the flicker photos to post, but my fault I could not walk her threw this one as I have to feel myself threw it too. I was trying to make a SET Badge from flicker. Well, the slideshow may have been better!
My husband went into the hospital for a 23 hour visit last week to remove the hardware from a previous surgery a year ago. It ended up that he stayed 3 days when they found none of the fushion had worked, It was just flopping around like a wire in a banana per the Doctor words.
Anyway! An update on my DH and his Health. My husband went into the hospital for a 23hour visit last Thursday to remove the hardware from a previous surgery a year ago. It ended up that he stayed 3 days when they found NONE of the fushion had worked, It was just flopping around like a wire in a banana per the Doctor words.
He had the back fusion about a year ago and had many complications from it so the plan was to go in and take a look and then take the hardware out of the bone. When they did the first fusion the DR discovered he had terrible osteoporosis and had to take the donor bone for the fusion from his hip which had been unplanned. We are an older generation than most of my readers I am sure, and we have been told the bone heals slower anyway than the football players who come to the Andrews Orthopedic Clinic in Birmingham, AL for surgery and heal well. He even takes a shot a day of Forteo, a bone growth drug and wears a bone growth stimualor four hours a day.
Well, time passes and he has not been able to return to an eight hour workday. He was injured at work by a ^%@*% file cabinet in the first place so all this is a workman's compensation case. And in this surgery the DR used a bone protein not paid for my most medical insurance and he said he spent a boatload on Thursday the surgery day when he spoke to me.
I guess I can be glad for that because with our medical insurance who knows where he would be. At least if this will fuse the bone to the new inserted and larger hardware, IT WILL WORK and heal him. It should be available to anyone who it can help. And then it might not be so expensive? He wants to get back to normal as fast as possible and this has been the goal all along.
Well, my daughter has been keeping Emma and she got the cutest puppy dog Golden Retriever plush for a present to him and I got him a new dog book to read. The cats are so glad to see us back home. I grew them some special kitty greens and have got some catnip to plant for them. They are in sleeping with him now in the bedroom.
Fast Forward to Monday:
He is having leg and foot pain with levels 7-8 on pain index. We just hope it is swelling around the nerve. The Dr is in surgery and will call later. I do still have to go get his RX for iron as he lost alot of blood during the surgery and the extra Pain Med that was not on hand at the pharmacy when we got a partial fillingthat was issued before surgery to have on hand. This crazy workman comp has it's OWN pharmacy we have to use and while it is nice, they are not open on Sunday when he was released Sat PM and we had to wait till today. I also will get him soem fresh spinach, like Popeye needed for his muscles. (grins)
He is back in bed with Emma now by his side. My daughter was keeping her and brought her home last evening, The first night home she thought EMma might jump on him and be to harsh, so they trained her to sit! Yippee! She needs that training. IT just takes sticking to making her mind which Bob tends to NOT DO!
Well, I Need to go clean house like the display wall the puppy dog is sitting on, Clutter I love but must remove. This wall is open above the TV storage cut-out. DH horton built our house with lots of neat little spaces but I tend to overload them.
I must thank Fawn Dear for starting the "Second Star to the Right" Blogger parties
She had the idea for our Second Start to the Right Blogger Parties and I have visited hers and others as well this afternoon. What an enchanting afternoon! I have had so much fun, please take a moment and see her fabulous posting for this event as well as you will fall in love with her children and fun teachings and imagination.
I have made many new friends through this event and I treasure each one.
I hope you have enjoyed my slideshow. I enjoyed making it for you anbd I thank Denise for setting up this blog day!
Sometimes I think I live in a fairy world in my mind, I love staging events in my home. Part of that is my problem with having too much stuff, just everywhere, but I never know what I might need and I love having things I love around me. I will just never be one of the people magazine’s talk about that has everything in its place! I fight it everyday, trying to find room for all my STUFF! My other world, within my imagination!
I adore that fairies have wish rings in my garden, the mushrooms that grown in circles are fairy rings and I love to read my children’s’ books about fairies. My imagination is alive still at 59 years old, just like when I was a child if not more as it got lost in the everyday for many years. It is fantasy. I am not as good an artist as some folks I know as I am always staging. I change my scenery in my world as well as in my head. It is like I am moving in to my new abode everyday. I have piles of stuff I love. But the time has come to part with some of my visual fun things that I cherish. My abode will just not neatly hold as much as I collect. I collect in my imagination, but I have bins full of things I have collected. I might need it one day, well my bookshelves are bulging and magazines’ of past and future home décor and the everyday in the past years are overwhelming my abode.
I also have with my DH, adopted two cats and one dog we keep in our abode that are real and wanting attention. Blak loves me to sit in my chair by the window with one of my books. He wants on my lap or shoulders. Just to be with me. That is important to him and to me. That is why I adopted him, to love him, as he requires.
Blu on the other hand loves the outside. He must have been an outdoor cat before we adopted him and we promised NOT to let him outside in danger as that is how he was where he was to be adopted in the first place. He was injured from being outside and was harmed in some way that no one looked for him; no one missed him enough to cry out for him. He loves to be outside. He stays a lot at the windows and in the evenings, the frogs that live around or house and crawl on the windows fascinate him. He wants to see them and watch them. He adores that! SO it shall be. I can’t close my blinds to them so he shall have fun in his imagination watching another world around him. It exists! It IS! Blu is very vocal and meow’s a lot! He wants things outside his realm. He is curious! He loves the unknown. So do I! Thanks goodness Blu and Emma play paw-boxing, dog and cat like they are best friends; I guess they are best friends. Even when Barkley my grandog comes over to visit Blu loves him and Blak kind of just watches everything wanting the comfort of a human lap or shoulder. It is funny when I bend over for something on the floor, which we have, a lot of pick–ups with all the toys and treats they play with. They climb on my back and I feel like a circus performer with a being on my back that is balancing on me. I just hope their claws have been clipped. Another thing with animals living with you is to not have love scratches, but I do.
My point is to include all in your world, your imagination and your being. Enjoy every touch. Enjoy every thought and smell (Well, except the litter box) Enjoy your God and your life as it passes fast. It could end tomorrow or today and be ready. Never take anything for granted. Tell the people you know you love them. JUST DO It as Nike first said many moons ago!
Enjoy your trip to the “Second Star On the Right”! It is there even though not as prominent as the Moon and the other Stars but it is there. Let it be in your imagination. Make today be the day you wish upon that star, May it bring you fabulous memories and something new to enjoy. It doesn’t have to be what you have heard of before. It is New and enjoyable.
